I'm not too sure if anyone has actually read my blog as of yet, or plans to even, but I've decided to post a blog today about the upcoming shows I am going to attend.

Let's start with tonight: Stone Temple Pilots at PNC in NJ.
I haven't seen STP live in about 6 years. I started listening to them when I was just a wee little kid, driving up to Round Valley with my mom on various weekends. My favorite album from them has to be "Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop". And now I hear these songs being played on Q104.3 - Classic Rock. Now that's when you know you're getting a little older - when the music you listened to as a kid, is now being played on a classic rock station shared with The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and the list goes on...
My next show is June 18th - Sigur Ros at the Manhattan Center in NYC. I got up at 10AM the day of the online sale. I refreshed my page every few seconds, only after numerous attempts, failed to get tickets. My lovely boyfriend was very upset by this, so he continued on to Ebay and successfully found three tickets for only around $100.00 each. Not bad for them being on Ebay - I was expecting them to be more around $200-$300 dollars a piece.
The only other time I have seen Sigur Ros was also in NYC for a Tibet fundraiser. I paid $200 for two tickets only to watch them play three songs (but it was way awesome because they played those three songs acoustically). Although I must say - it was definitely worth it; it was my most beautiful experience yet.

After Sigur Ros, I have the one, the only, THE TOADIES at the Trocadero in Philly June 28th.
When I first heard their first hit Possum Kingdom on the radio for the first time, I was in love. Their CD Rubberneck was released August of 1994 meaning I was 8 years old. I don't remember the exact age that I was when I first heard them, but I had to have been around the age of 10. Me, my mom and my friend at the time drove to Washington DC to see them play at a club called The Black Cat. I vaguely remember this being that it was about 6 years ago, so I'm very happy I have the pleasure of seeing them at my age now, so I can deeply appreciate it more.
Also - I've found that they are releasing a new CD called No Deliverance August 19th 2008.. exciting!

And finally, for now, my fourth show of summer 2008, is by far my favorite band at the moment - Mewithoutyou - and they are playing at Maxwells in Hoboken July 18th. I have seen them numerous times at various places within the past year or so and every time, I just want more. The last time I saw them they played a benefit show in their hometown of Philly for a man who lost his life to cancer who happened to be close to them. It was at a very small venue - I'm pretty sure it was a church or a place of prayer. It was the most amazing and surreal performance I've been a part of. Every single person there was in love with this band just as much as I was - which made everyone seem like they already knew each other. After the show, I decided I wanted to tell the singer how I felt about his music and his lyrics, basically how much I love everything that he makes. So I did, and I don't think I will ever forget what he said to me. . .
